A series of MOFs comprising tetrahedral lanthanide complexes, isonicotinate linkers, and the octahedral cluster anion [Re<sub>6</sub>S<sub>8</sub>(CN)<sub>6</sub>]<sup>4–</sup>demonstrate structure-directing effects of the rhenium cluster.
