A new configuration for the high boosting dc–dc converter is proposed in this Letter. This configuration is derived by modifying the conventional SEPIC converter. It is also feasible to extend the voltage gain of the topology using a diode–capacitor cell. The key features of the derived topology are high gain and low voltage stress. The suggested converter is analysed in continuous conduction mode. Considering the inductor current and capacitor voltage ripple, the components’ of the proposed converter are designed. The losses and efficiency of the converter are calculated. Furthermore, the chief performance indices such as voltage gain, total component count and switch voltage stress are compared with other configurations in the literature. Finally, 50 W prototype is implemented to validate the exactness of the steady‐state analysis and the experimental result.
