Our findings indicate that <i>HAMP</i> functions as a tumor suppressor gene. The role of <i>HAMP</i> in cellular proliferation and metastasis is related to cell cycle checkpoints. <i>HAMP</i> could be considered as a diagnostic biomarker and targeted therapy in HCC.
