Abstract

The influences of vertical vibration on suspension stability and side-suspending gap for the side-suspending high-temperature superconducting (HTS) maglev system are investigated. The results show that the attenuations of side-suspending height and gap augment with the increases of vibration amplitude and initial side-suspending gap, respectively. These phenomena observed can be attributed to the fact that the vibration process causes ac loss effects. The results will be helpful for the future applications of HTS maglev system.
