The Middle Cambrian noncalcareous algae are common fossils in the Burgess Shale of British Columbia. So far, the discovery areas of these fossils are confined to North Ameriaca. Some noncalcareous algae from the the middle and upper parts of the Kaili Formation at Gedong, Taijiang, southeastern Guizhou are described. These algae are reported in China for the first time and therefore the discovery not only has filled the gaps in the study of these algae in China and further increased the biotic content of the Kaili Fauna, but also has expanded the geographic distribution of the Burgess Shale algae, and provided some new materials for the study of paleogegraphy and paleoplate and comparison of early stage plants between the eastern and western shores of the Pacific Ocean.
