Triple-negative breast cancers (TNBC) are so-called because they lack expression of the estrogen receptor, progesterone receptor and human epidermal growth factor receptor-2. Of the many sub-classifications of breast cancer, TNBCs remain among the most aggressive (1). Reflecting the lack of cell surface markers, treatment options for TNBC are usually limited to conventional chemotherapies rather than molecular targeted therapies. Thus, there is an ongoing need to identify new reagents with potential bioactivity in TNBC.
