Cu(<scp>ii</scp>)- or Co(<scp>ii</scp>)-Catalyzed C(SP₃)–H oxidation of <i>N</i>,<i>N</i>-dimethylaminoethanol: facile synthesis of methylene-bridged biindoles and 3-formylindoles selectively

Abstract

Methylene-bridged biindoles and 3-formylindoles were synthesized with high conversion rate and good regioselectivity using a new carbon donor <italic>N</italic>,<italic>N</italic>-dimethylethanolamine, catalyzed by CuCl₂ and CoCl₂ respectively.
