Abstract

It is shown that experimentally discovered nanosized bubbles in a water medium arise spontaneously due to the minimization of the Gibbs energy of the gas–liquid disperse system. Increased gas pressure inside the nanobubble gradually equalizes (according to the Henry law) with the atmospheric pressure of the air dissolved in the water. The bubble radius decreases to some extent, and the bubble transits to a stable state.
