In-situ measurements of seismic velocity at 19 locations in the Los Angeles, California, region

Abstract

Congressional waves are generated at each site by the vertical impact of a sledge hammer on a steel plate. A signal produced by the opening of a switch attached to the hammer is recorded for determining origin time.
