Precise tool wear prediction is the key to improving the productivity of the entire workpiece. Reliable tool wear prediction technology can reduce the machine downtime caused by the tool change process, and can also make the entire machining process more efficient. This paper briefly reviews the research of tool wear prediction technology, and then uses the ARIMA (p, d, q) model in the time series and the LSTM model to predict the wear of the tool respectively. The results show that the LSTM model has better prediction performance.
