Lithium-Ion batteries are the source of energy for every mobile device and electric vehicle. That is why the user should be aware about the state of charge (SOC) and the state of health (SOH) of the battery. There are several accurate methods presented in the scientific papers but usually these are computationally intensive so running their signal processing algorithms consumes a significant amount of battery power. Our goal is to trade accuracy for energy efficiency by estimating these parameters analyzing the (current) step response of the battery.
