Abstract

AIR surgery in carefully selected patients may be useful and effective way to enhance residual bowel absorptive function and to reduce parenteral nutrition requirements. AIR and intestinal transplantation are complementary surgical tools in the complex treatment algorithm of TIA/NTIA.
