With the development of technology, infrared image recognition technology has been applied in the monitoring of overheating fault of power equipment. The thermal fault detection system of power equipment based on infrared image analysis is designed in this paper, which is composed of image acquisition module and image detection module. According to the shape feature of the target device, the power equipment in the thermal image is identified, the maximum temperature in the equipment area is calculated, and the diagnosis is made after the correction of various influencing factors, and the result is satisfactory. In the comparative test with the active sensor of thermal power equipment fault detection method, it is proved that the thermal power equipment fault detection method based on infrared image analysis in the areas of thermal power equipment fault detection is accurate and effective.
