Modeling Inverter-Based Resources in Stability Studies

Abstract

The NERC Inverter-Based Resource Performance Task Force (IRPTF) is developing recommended performance characteristics for inverter-based resources connected to the bulk power system. This paper provides modeling considerations and simulations results from studies performed by the NERC IRPTF. A primary focus is on modeling capability and impacts of momentary cessation on grid stability.
