Study on the Autonomous Asynchronous Generator

Abstract

This paper investigates the three phase squirrel cage asynchronous machine in the autonomous (isolated) generator regime. Both transient and steady state performances with load and an excitation capacitor bank are presented. In order to perform this, a Matlab/Simulink model of the generator was done. Then the modeled machine was tested in the laboratory, comparing the results of the simulations with the experimental ones.
