An experimental investigation of steady-state thermal counterflow of superfluid ${}^{4}$He indicates that, in the range of investigated parameters, interactions between flow-probing particles and tangles of quantized vortices are appreciably influenced not only by the tangle geometry but also by the particle inertia.
