Abstract

We show for the first time that empagliflozin reduces CaMKII activity and CaMKII-dependent SR Ca<sup>2+</sup> leak. Reduced Ca<sup>2+</sup> leak and improved Ca<sup>2+</sup> transients may contribute to the beneficial effects of empagliflozin in HF.
