Third-generation cephalosporins remain the optimal choice for treating NTS, <i>Shigella</i>, and gonococcal infections in Taiwan. Hospital-acquired and phenotypically ESBL-producing <i>K. pneumoniae</i> are a heavy resistance burden in Taiwan.
