Thyroid Function in Chronically Transfused Children with Beta Thalassemia Major: A Cross-Sectional Hospital Based Study

Abstract

Subclinical hypothyroidism was the thyroid dysfunction observed in our study. Regular blood transfusions with adequate chelation may decrease incidence of thyroid dysfunction.
