The fusion of manufacturing industries, next-generation Internet, and information technologies is catalyzing the development of the industrial Internet (II). The importance of developing the industry Internet platform (IIP) is recognized not only by leading international manufacturers, but also by people involved in framing China's manufacturing strategies. In this paper, the development trends of IIP are explained, and the challenges in building the client ecosystem, developer ecosystem, and data ecosystem of IIP are analyzed. Furthermore, the technical challenges of IIP in modeling and analyzing industry big data are discussed in depth.
