A series of [(PMP)Rh(CO)Cl]<sup>n+</sup> complexes was synthesised and the impact of the metalloligands Cu<sup>I</sup>, Li<sup>I</sup> and Zn<sup>II</sup> on the CO stretching band was analysed.
