Abstract

Molybdenum disulfide (MoS<sub>2</sub>) is considered as an ideal substrate for hybridizing with functional groups, to form MoS<sub>2</sub>-based nanocomposites. Such nanocomposites possess charming properties due to synergistic effects, greatly broadening the applications of MoS<sub>2</sub> and its derivatives. In this review, we focus on the advances of noble metal nanostructure-decorated MoS<sub>2</sub> (MoS<sub>2</sub>-NMNs) nanocomposites. First, we summarize the synthesis methods for preparation of MoS<sub>2</sub>-NMNs nanocomposites. Then, the applications of MoS<sub>2</sub>-NMNs nanocomposites are reviewed. Finally, we discuss the prospects and challenges of MoS<sub>2</sub>-NMNs nanocomposites for the future.
