Abstract

A high-performance impedance-source converter utilizing switched inductor is proposed in this paper, which can be adopted in the applications demanding high-voltage conversion. The proposed converter not only retains the advantage of quasi-Z-source of sharing common ground between the input and output but also possesses the superiorities of enhanced boost ability and lower stresses as well as higher efficiency. Mathematical analysis of the converter and its performance comparison with other converters are presented in detail. Finally, a 100 W prototype is built and the experimental results are provided to verify the feasibility of the proposed converter.
