In this paper, a high step-up voltage gain AC-DC power-factor-correction (PFC) rectifier based on a transformerless switched-inductor converter is proposed for universal input applications. The proposed PFC converter features a very simple circuit structure, and it is designed to operate in discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) with nature current-shaping ability, alleviated revise recovery current of diodes and a simple voltage control. A high output voltage is provided without operating at an extremely high duty ratio. In addition, the voltage stresses of power switches are lower than the output voltage, contributing to low cost and low loss of power switches. Finally, steady-state theoretical derivations are presented. Simulated results are provided to validate the effectiveness of this proposed PFC converter.
