Abstract

2013 might enter into history as a turning point for both United Nations (UN) peacekeeping and the Democratic Republic of the Congo’s (DRC) two decades of armed conflicts. Both accustomed to negative reporting and daunting outlooks, they are similarly affected by a paradigm shift in international intervention that finds its precedent in MONUSCO, the Mission des Nations Unies pour la Stabilisation du Congo2.
