A highly efficient catalytic asymmetric [3 + 2] cycloaddition/rearrangement cascade of thiazolium <italic>N</italic>-ylides with various electron-deficient 2-π components was achieved, providing a convenient method to access hydropyrrolo-thiazole and hydropyrrolo-thiazine derivatives.
