Abstract

Molybdenum disulfide has been intercalated with sodium and potassium. Both natural crystals of molybdenite and synthetic crystals were used, and measurements made on the intercalated products indicate a superconducting transition temperature of \ensuremath{\sim}1.3\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{}K for sodium and \ensuremath{\sim}4.5\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{}K for potassium.
