Abstract

Leprosy remains an important health issue. The disease is characterised by a chronic granulomatous infection of the skin and peripheral nerves caused by Mycobacterium leprae. The disease is classified into two, namely paucibacillary (PB) or multibacillary (MB) leprosy.
