Abstract

The prevalence of self-reported DM in a representative sample of the adult Greek population in 2010 was 6.6%. The prevalence of heart diseases in subjects with DM was 2.7-fold higher than the prevalence in those without DM. Diseases of the lung, kidney, liver, and blood as well as malignancies were significantly more common among participants with DM.
