Discarded tires were the most preferred breeding habitats for <i>Aedes</i> mosquitoes. Moreover, <i>Ae. aegypti</i>, the main vector of dengue and other arboviruses, was identified for the first time in this region, suggesting a high potential for arbovirus transmission in the study areas.
