The Accuracy of Systematic Sampling from Conveyor Belts

Abstract

The sampling of coal and similar materials for testing purposes is described, and it is shown how the results of a trial set of observations may be used to calculate the accuracy of a given sampling scheme. The article presents an interesting practical application of the analysis of variance and a new technique based on the theory of time series.
