Abstract

Primary DVD is a bilateral, usually asymmetrical condition with a variable clinical appearance. In an attempt to better understand this entity 23 patients with primary DVD were evaluated. From this study we would like to enlarge the list of clinical characteristics of DVD when unassociated with other forms of strabismus: included are early onset, good and equal visual acuity, demonstrable fusion, presence of head tilt, often cosmetically acceptable, usually asymptomatic.
