During the last 6yr, Musculista senhousia has become established in New Zealand and Australia. Dispersal has been particularly rapid from the site of first arrival at Auckland, New Zealand. Population densities in both countries are presently less than the maxima reported for adults from E Asia, its original home. Besides documenting the separate invasions, this paper evaluates the threat this mollusk poses to existing shellfisheries, especially oyster farms and hatcheries.-from Author
