Abstract

Energy scarcity is the serious issue for the lifetime of a sensor network. The promising solution for this issue is to utilize the wireless chargers to replenish the batteries of sensor nodes. Wireless chargers transmit the power source to sensor nodes through the air without any interconnecting cables. The crucial issue is to identify the optimal position for each charger to minimize the number of chargers required to recharge the entire sensors. In this paper, enhanced sensor coverage with the Daubechies wavelet algorithm is proposed to identify the optimal position for the wireless chargers. Daubechies wavelets have dilation and translation functions for horizontal or vertical movement of the chargers in the region. Furthermore, the proposed algorithm mobilizes the redundant chargers in the optimal position. The series of simulation results confirms that the proposed method performs better to identify the optimal solution compared with other techniques.
