Fusion of piggyBac-like transposons and herpesviruses occurs frequently in teleosts

Abstract

We propose that <i>piggyBac</i>-like elements and <i>Teratorn</i>-like viruses have co-existed for a long time, and that fusion of the two mobile genetic elements occurred frequently in teleosts.
