To find out the effect of Rhizobium inoculation and nitrogen on performance of mungbean (Vigna radiata L.), investigation were conducted at University of Arid Agriculture, Rawalpindi, during spring 2004. The research material consisted of mungbean variety (NM- 98) with treatments of seed and soil inoculation and nitrogen levels at 15, 30 and 45 kg ha-1. Data were recorded on, number of nodules per plant, root length, plant height at maturity and biological yield per plant. Soil and seed inoculation in combination with N fertilizer positively affected the growth and nodule formation of green gram. Among all the treatments, seed inoculation + 15 kg N ha-1 was found effective.
