Low-Profile Pattern-Reconfigurable Vertically Polarized Endfire Antenna With Magnetic-Current Radiators

Abstract

A low-profile pattern-reconfigurable vertically polarized antenna is proposed. The reconfigurable antenna with a profile of about 0.06 wavelengths can emit three different vertically polarized beams, which are two directional beams and a quasi-bidirectional beam. The overlapped measured band of the three statuses has a bandwidth of 11.3%, which covers the operational bands of EN 302 663 and 802.11p-1609.x standards used in intelligent transportation systems.
