Reducing mutans streptococci and caries development by<i>Lactobacillus paracasei</i>SD1 in preschool children: a randomized placebo-controlled trial

Abstract

Consumption of milk powder containing L. paracasei SD1 resulted in a reduction of both salivary MS and delayed new caries development, and the strain is safe for use in young children. Results suggest that L. paracasei SD1 may be an alternative way for caries prevention in young children.
