The use of IoT-based applications to retrieve data in relatively real-time has increased significantly. One of the applications is weather monitoring application called Rendeng (Rapid Envelopment Data Sending). The aim of this application is not only to collect weather data, but also to present the weather information as the user's needs. Rendeng, developed for specific user characteristic, has four different education backgrounds, which are: Informatics, Mathematics, Statistics, and Physics. Therefore, there is a need to test the usability of the application in order to gain the value of efficiency, effectiveness, satisfaction, and learnability of the application in achieving those goals. Considering the difference education background, this is a specific test for an application having likely characteristic with Rendeng. However, research on the usability testing towards the weather monitoring application is rarely conducted. Regarding to previous studies in this area, the aim of this study is to test the usability of Rendeng application. The results show that Rendeng has drawbacks in terms of efficiency and effectiveness with scores 73.4% and 77.8%, respectively. In contrast, Rendeng gives advantages in satisfaction with score about 81.1% and in learnability with score about 74.5%.
