This paper proposes a Fuzzy Brain Emotional Neural Network (FBENN) control system for a model free nonlinear system. The proposed controller is based on the emotional and logical processing of the brain. The proposed control system merges a fuzzy inference, neural network (NN), sliding mode control (SMC), brain emotional learning algorithm and a robust compensator. The fuzzy brain emotional neural network is used as the main controller and the robust compensator is designed to negate the approximation error. A simulation study and an experimentation results on a magnetic levitation system (MLS) shows favorable tracking performance.
