Design pattern for agent based production system control — A survey

Abstract

Multi-agent systems (MAS) are an implementation paradigm frequently used within control system design for flexible production systems. Over the years a larger set of MAS based control architectures have been developed with different intentions and system focus. These different architectures can now be reviewed to identify common design pattern potentially being applicable within the design of new and advanced agent-based control architectures as best practice. This identification is the main aim of this paper.
