Applications of Flow Chemistry in Drug Development: Highlights of Recent Patent Literature

Abstract

Flow chemistry is playing an increasingly important role in API process development and manufacture in the pharmaceutical and fine chemical industry. The current article reviews routes to approved drugs that employ at least one continuous flow step, disclosed in the patent literature during 2016 and 2017, with a further constraint that the chemistry has not been published in a journal article.
