This work reports on the synthesis and characterization of phthalocyanines (M = Cu(<sc>ii</sc>) (<bold>2</bold>), Zn(<sc>ii</sc>) (<bold>3</bold>) In(<sc>iii</sc>) (<bold>4</bold>) and Co(<sc>ii</sc>) (<bold>5</bold>)) peripherally tetra-substituted with 1-(4-hydroxyphenyl)propan-1-one.
