A model of indoor PM2.5 concentration for a primary return air system is presented based on a balance of concentration. The variation in filter efficiency and outdoor air ratio with indoor PM2.5 concentration is discussed, with filters installed in the fresh, the return and supply vents. The simulation results show that when the proportion of outdoor air ratio increases, indoor PM2.5 pollutant concentration is gradually reduced, but it is not proportional to the decrease. The highest reduction in indoor PM2.5 concentration was achieved by using a supply air filter, whether the outdoor air ratio changed from 0.1 to 0.4. When the outdoor air ratio is greater than 0.2, the concentration of PM2.5 increases with the increase of the outdoor air ratio by using a return air filter.
