A novel Na<sub>2</sub>WO<sub>2</sub>F<sub>4</sub>:Mn<sup>4+</sup>red-emitting phosphor, exhibiting an ultra-intense zero phonon line at 620 nm, is demonstrated to be promising for LED lightings and displays.
