Three new species of heterostigmatic mites (Acari: Heterostigmata) from Brazil are described: Athyreacarus primitivus sp. nov. (Athyreacaridae), Pavania neotropica sp. nov. (Dolichocybidae) and Spatulaphorus brasiliensis sp. nov. (Pygmephoridae) collected from the scarab beetles Bolbapium howdeni Martínez (Geotrupidae), Canthon histrio (Le Peletier de Saint-Fargeau & Audinet-Serville) and Dichotomius podalirius Felsche (Scarabaeidae), respectively. Keys to species of the genera Pavania and Spatulaphorus of the world are provided.
