System simulation really has changed! In the past the most difficult part of any control design
or system feasibility study was developing a system simulation. Ten or twelve years ago, the system engineer was faced with directly using a high-level language like FORTRAN, supported by libraries of numerical algorithms. Today, Windows, the mouse and advanced computer graphics reign supreme. The second surprising feature of today's simulation software is the range of system types which maybe easily simulated.
