CNS isolates have distinguishingly high resistance to tetracycline. Abundant tetracycline usage for mastitis treatment leads to the spread of genetic resistance mechanisms inside CNS strains and among all <i>Staphylococcus</i> spp. Consequently, tetracycline is not effective anymore.
