Two common pathways for biosynthesis ofbrassinosteroids, namely the early- and late-C6 oxidationpathway, have been established. Although almost completebiosynthetic sequences for the pathways were determined byfeeding experiments using isotope-labelled substrates andgenetic analyses of brassinosteroids-deficient mutants, littleinformation has been reported about enzymes involved inthe biosynthetic pathways.
