The analysis of biologic and \nchorological data highlighted the environmental peculiarities of Sulcis, given by the local evolution \nof a rich floristic contingent. Eight exclusive endemics, together with an unique blend of \ngeolithologic, geomorphologic, paleogeographic, bioclimatic and vegetation features, let to \nattribute the rank of biogeographic sector to the Sulcis-Iglesiente territory, whose southern part \ncan be seen as the Sulcis sub sector. The new IUCN protection categories are proposed for all \ntaxa restricted to the Sulcis-Iglesiente sector.
